DISA opens $334M commissary tech support contract for bids
One company will take on the responsibility of managing hardware and software that supports the military's global network of grocery and household goods stores.
A final solicitation is now live for a new contract to maintain and operate technology assets in use at grocery and household good stores at U.S. military facilities around the world.
The Defense Information Systems Agency has set a due date of Nov. 29 for proposals in pursuit of the potential five-year, $334.7 million contract being called DeCA Enterprise Business Operations Systems Solution, or DEBOSS in the shorthand.
DEBOSS will be a single-award competition, according to the request for proposals released Monday.
DeCA stands for the the Defense Commissary Agency, which is responsible for approximately 240 commissaries with three-fourths inside the U.S. The Defense Information Systems Agency is running this procurement on their behalf.
DEBOSS bundles requirements from two existing contracts held by NCR's federal business and IBM, respectively for an enterprise business solution covering software and point-of-sale equipment.
The new contract will cover sustainment support for NCR brand name hardware, software, services and third-party applications. Those systems also include interfaces with various IT infrastructures and platforms such as VMWare, Microsoft, Linux, Oracle and SQL.
DeCA will use the contract to ensure its business solutions continue supporting global operations that include catalogue management, ordering, receiving, inventory, and point-of-sale.
The DEBOSS contractor will be responsible for procuring annual hardware renewal warranty support and maintenance for previously purchased hardware that is already integrated within the existing mission partner infrastructure.
Work will take place over one initial base year and up to four individual option years.
