CGI Federal touts $522M EPA IT modernization win

CGI Federal has booked a potential seven-year, $522.6 million task order to work with the Environmental Protection Agency on modernizing enterprise IT systems and developing new technologies.
The Information Technology Enterprise Development order tasks CGI to help EPA reimagine its technology portfolio at the application, platform and enterprise levels. CGI and EPA will aim to advance the agency's vision for secure, agile and efficient enterprise development.
ITED’s period of performance includes one initial base year and up to six individual option years, CGI said Wednesday. EPA is using the program as a means to develop and implement new technologies in support of key priorities for addressing climate change, sustainability, environmental justice and civil rights.
"Given its critical role in implementing key programs under the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, EPA will continue to require practical and pragmatic use of innovative technologies to increase collaboration across government and with external stakeholders,” Jay Hadley, a CGI senior vice president for consulting services, said in a release.
The General Services Administration’s FEDSIM acquisition organization ran the procurement on EPA’s behalf. FEDSIM received two bids in total for the order that went through the OASIS professional services vehicle, according to Federal Procurement Data System records.
CGI touts having a 45-year partnership with EPA that includes efforts like the Central Data Exchange program for providing an environmental data exchange ecosystem for EPA, states, localities, tribes, industry and other federal agencies.
