NASA opens proposal window for $478M Space Station support recompete

NASA is now ready for industry to start working on proposals for the potential nine-year, $478 million recompete of a contract vehicle covering broad research and engineering services.

Bids for this second iteration of the program dubbed REMIS are due to the agency by May 16, while questions regarding the final solicitation are due no later than April 26. A virtual pre-proposal conference is scheduled for 11 a.m.-to-2 p.m. Eastern time on April 25.

Approximately half of the awards will go to small businesses, while the solicitation available via GovTribe and released Friday does not say an exact number of companies NASA will select.

The Research, Engineering, and Mission Integration Services 2 vehicle is a continuation of work first awarded in 2017 to 16 companies whose work primarily supports the International Space Station. Other NASA offices and federal agencies have access to the contract as well.

Companies on the vehicle compete for task orders in areas such as spaceflight and ground hardware and software, sustaining engineering functions, engineering services, payload facility integration, research mission integration and operations services.
