Accenture touts $189M CDC cloud migration award

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is evaluating what IT assets can go into the secured infrastructure.
Accenture's U.S. government subsidiary has booked a three-year, $189 million task order to work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on moving data and applications to a cloud computing environment.
CDC tasked Accenture Federal Services to help evaluate the functionality of the agency's IT systems and how they could go into a secured cloud infrastructure.
“We look forward to introducing innovative ways to achieve CDC’s cloud adoption goals through our public health experience, cloud first capabilities, and innovation investments, to help advance their mission to protect people from health, safety, and security threats," Jill Olmstead, AFS' health consulting practice leader, said in a release.
The agency awarded this order in September through the government-wide Alliant 2 IT solutions vehicle. CDC received seven bids for the order, Federal Procurement Data System records indicate.
