Five firms to vie for $250M in Navy aircrew tech supply work

The Navy makes awards on a $250 million contract covering the development of electronic warfare simulation and radar systems for aircrews.
Five companies have received positions on a five-year, $250 million contract to develop electronic warfare threat simulation and radar systems for the Navy.
They will vie for task orders to help the military branch roll out simulators and instrumentation for training naval aviation personnel in network-centric warfare and battlefield scenarios before they deploy, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
Each company that submitted proposals received an award:
- Alion Science and Technology (acquired by Huntington Ingalls Industries)
- Amentum
- Leidos
- Saab
- Scientific Research Corp.
Work under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will also include research, development, modernization, engineering, integration, cybersecurity and sustainment services.
The Navy sought tactical and electronic warfare threat systems to help increase the lethality and survivability of pre-deployment aircrews.
