Science Applications International Corp. has won a potential five-year, $123 million contract to continue operating the IT environment of a major Federal Aviation Administration hub that houses training for air traffic controllers.
The FAA awarded this recompete on Friday and received six proposals in total, according to Federal Procurement Data System records.
Work primarily supports the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, where approximately 7,500 federal employees are based. They represent one of the Transportation Department’s largest workforce concentrations outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
MMAC is home to the FAA Logistics Center, an organization that supports the National Airspace System of air traffic controllers and aviation safety inspectors, and FAA Academy where air traffic controllers receive training.
SAIC won the current contract in 2019 and has received approximately $130.2 million in obligations since then, according to GovTribe data. Some examples of task orders include the standup of an enterprise data center and implementation of an Oracle E-Business Suite solution.
