BigBear elevates new operations chief

Carl Napoletano has led several of the company's integration efforts in his former role as special projects lead.

BigBear.ai has promoted a new chief operating officer from within its own ranks in Carl Napoletano, a three-decade government market veteran who has been with the artificial intelligence integrator since 2020.

He begins his new responsibilities effective immediately and continues to report to BigBear’s chief executive Mandy Long, the company said Friday.

Napoletano most recently worked as BigBear’s vice president of special projects, a role that involved responsibility for several major integration efforts including the Fall 2023 combination with Pangiam.

He joined BigBear through its acquisition in 2020 of the former ProModel Government Services business, where he had been for the prior two decades in leadership roles including as a senior vice president.

Prior to ProModel, he worked in senior engineering and business development positions at General Dynamics’ Electric Boat submarine unit.
