Cydecor buys network communications integrator
Artel opened for business in 1986 and supports the U.S. military's terrestrial assets on five continents.
Cydecor, a veteran-owned technology solutions provider, has acquired an integrator of network communications and other similar systems for federal agencies in a move to create a new business line.
Artel opened for business in 1986 and also touts its service offerings as including professional IT support, cybersecurity and risk management. The company also provides and supports terrestrial capacity on five continents as part of its work to furnish satellite bandwidth for U.S. military customers.
By purchasing Artel, Cydecor is looking to add to its technology portfolio that already includes work in secure systems and software development. Terms of the transaction announced Tuesday were not disclosed.
This acquisition represents Cydecor’s such within the past three years, including its purchase of InnovaSystems in December 2022 to bring in more database development and business intelligence work.
Herndon, Virginia-headquartered Artel was owned by the private equity firms TPG and Torch Hill Investment Partners dating back to their initial purchase of the contractor in 2011.
Raymond James worked as the financial adviser to Artel, whose legal counsel was Kirkland and Ellis. Rock Hall Partners advised Cydecor on the transaction’s financial aspects with Morrison and Foerster the buy-side legal counsel.
