CGI Federal to acquire Aeyon
Aeyon employs 725 people that work with agencies on helping them adopt and use robotic process automation and other similar technologies.
CGI's U.S. federal subsidiary has acquired Aeyon, a provider of digital transformation and automation solutions to government agencies in a move to further build out across the market's defense and civilian segments.
A total of 725 Aeyon employees will become a part of CGI Federal, which expects to close the transaction in the third quarter of this calendar year. No other terms of the agreement announced Tuesday were disclosed, but the companies said they signed the pact on June 22.
Investment firm Enlightenment Capital put together Aeyon in the fall of 2021 through a combination of two other businesses. Since that merger, Aeyon has centered its strategy around integrating robotic process automation and other similar technologies for federal agencies.
CGI touts the acquisition as expanding the federal team's presence further across agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, branches and agencies of the U.S. military, and Office of the Secretary of Defense.
When Aeyon's CEO Sunny Singh joined our WT 360 podcast in March 2023, he spoke to how the company also sought to provide its clients a mix of integration and consulting services to help them implement emerging technologies.
Investment bank Baird advised Aeyon on the transaction.
