Avion Solutions seeks space, missile defense growth via acquisition

Avion Solutions has acquired a provider of test planning and analysis services as part of a push to expand further into space and missile defense programs.
This addition of Synectic Research & Analysis also hones in on modeling and simulation work, along with software development and missile systems engineering. Terms of the transaction announced Friday were not disclosed.
Substantially all of Avion's $40 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months is with the Army, according to GovTribe data.
Avion is an employee-owned company that opened for business in 1992 as a provider of services across areas such as aerospace engineering, airworthiness, logistics, integrated project support and model-based systems engineering.
