MSI is also looking to further build out its cloud migration and consulting service offerings.

Management Science and Innovation, a provider of digital transformation and consulting services to federal agencies, has made an acquisition to further grow its artificial intelligence and DevOps software development offerings.

Ascolta will also bring cloud computing migration and additional management consulting services to MSI. Terms of the transaction announced Wednesday were not disclosed.

Hampton, Virginia-headquartered Ascolta started in 2014 and has since focused much of its strategy on the Defense Department's overall risk management framework, plus DOD's software testing and deployment processes.

"The acquisition of Ascolta is a pivotal milestone for MSI, fortifying our portfolio in AI and technical solutions," MSI's chief executive Dan Heckman said in a release.

MSI's core service lines cover strategy, human capital, process optimization and business transformation areas for customers in the government, commercial and nonprofit sectors.

MSI has recorded approximately $13.6 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months, according to GovTribe data.
