System One acquires federal tech consultancy

System One, a staffing and outsourcing services provider, has acquired a technology consulting and data management company to gain an increased footing across the government market.

KeyLogic will become a part of System One's Gap Solutions subsidiary and bring approximately 700 team members that include systems designers and developers, data scientists, Ph.D. scientists and other IT specialists. Terms of the transaction announced Monday were not disclosed.

Gap Solutions houses the bulk of System One's federal business and concentrates on workforce solutions, advisory services, and technology enhancement and implementation programs for that customer set. System One acquired GAP Solutions in 2017 to enter the federal market.

Morgantown, West Virginia-headquartered KeyLogic has received approximately $62.1 million in unclassified prime contract and grant obligations from federal agencies over the trailing 12 months.

The Energy Department represents roughly 94% of that spend and the Environmental Protection Agency makes up for the remainder, according to GovTribe data.

KeyLogic also touts its core focus areas as covering data analytics, digital transformation, the agile software development practice called DevSecOps and cybersecurity support.

With this transaction, the private equity firm Proteus Capital Solutions is exiting its investment in KeyLogic after having acquired the contractor in 2018.

System One is also a private equity-backed company, having been owned by Oaktree Capital Management for approximately three years.
