Mission1st, Swift Group move on acquisitions
These two buyers are looking to further scale up what they do in technology for their customers.
No terms were disclosed in either of these transactions announced Thursday, but here is what the companies involved have shared.
Mission1st Group
This service-disabled, veteran-owned small business is looking to broaden its analytics and cloud consulting work across the federal landscape among other areas of technology services.
Mission1st believes it has found a pathway to do that through its acquisition of Ardent Management Consulting, a 17-year-old company that touts itself as able to help drive digital transformation efforts through data science and analytics.
Ardent is also one of 36 designated Amazon Web Services Consulting Partners as it works with customers on using that cloud computing environment for efforts in geospatial analytics, artificial intelligence, mapping, data collection and visualization.
Tulsa, Oklahoma-headquartered Ardent has booked approximately $57.8 million in unclassified prime obligations over the trailing 12 months with the Homeland Security Department representing close to 86%, according to USASpending.gov figures.
Ascend Capital Group worked as the exclusive buy-side adviser to Mission1st, which started in 2003.
The Swift Group
This employee-owned government technology and professional services outfit wants more of a footing in two customer domains whose agencies often run contracts with a high barrier to entry for newcomers.
Swift has therefore acquired OPS Consulting to do just that Defense Department and intelligence community agencies in tech areas such as data analytics, high-performance computing and threat mitigation.
OPS' core service offerings include systems engineering and technical assistance, software engineering, signals development and program management.
Founded in 2019, Swift also touts specialized logistics as among its core areas of focus for the national security community.
Capstone Partners worked as the exclusive financial adviser to OPS Consulting, while Arnold & Porter was legal adviser to Swift.
