Lockheed promotes new human resources leader

Lockheed Martin has promoted a new chief human resources officer from within its own ranks in Christopher Wronsky, a 35-year veteran of the company who will start in that position on Sept. 1.

Wronsky will report directly to Lockheed chief executive Jim Taiclet and succeed current CHRO Greg Karol, whom the company said Tuesday is retiring after four decades there.

In his new role, Wronsky will be responsible for Lockheed's overall HR and workforce development function for close to 116,000 employees around the world. His responsibilities will include benefits, compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, labor relations, talent and organizational capability, and workforce solutions and intelligence.

He currently works as vice president for the human resources organization in Lockheed's rotary and mission systems segment that has 35,000 employees.

Wronsky will also oversee Lockheed's global security organization in addition to his CHRO role.
