FTI's founder and longtime leader for more than three decades is moving over to the executive chairman role.

Government IT services company Future Technologies has hired a new chief executive in Robert Miller, most recently a group president at EverWatch prior to that firm's acquisition by Booz Allen Hamilton.

FTI said Thursday that Miller succeeds Ram Gupta, who founded and led the company for the past three decades and is now executive chairman of the board of directors.

Gupta started FTI in 1992 as a provider of information systems and technical support services to government and private sector organizations worldwide. The company also touts its work areas as including naval operations, engineering support and biometrics.

At EverWatch, Miller was president of its defense missions and support business with responsibility for shaping that company's growth in national security markets.

Miller is also a former president of IEA Corp.. which was one of a handful of companies that the investment firm Enlightenment Capital combined to form EverWatch in 2018.

Booz Allen acquired EverWatch in the fall for approximately $440 million.
