Cyber-focused investment firm adds ManTech chair as adviser
Paladin Capital Group has invested in at least 65 companies since its launch in 2001.
Paladin Capital Group, a private investment firm focused on cybersecurity and other advanced technology companies, has added ManTech's board chairman Kevin Phillips as a strategic adviser.
Phillips is the second major addition Paladin has announced within the past month as Chris Inglis, the U.S.' first-ever national cyber director, also joined the firm as a strategic adviser.
Most recently, Phillips was chief executive at ManTech and led that company's sale to The Carlyle Group in the fall of 2022 at a valuation of $4.2 billion. Shortly after that transaction completed, Phillips stepped down from the CEO position and was succeeded by Matt Tait.
“The rapid rise of artificial intelligence and other disruptive technologies have exposed a new wave of vulnerabilities that will require investment and innovation to secure," Michael Steed, Paladin founder and managing partner, said in a release Wednesday. "In his career, Kevin has seen firsthand how technological disruption requires new solutions, and we are glad to have his perspective and acumen at Paladin as we invest in digital solutions to secure both private and government customers for this new era.”
In June, Paladin closed its second Cyber Fund at $372 million raised from investors to focus on cybersecurity and online safety technology in public sector and commercial markets.
Paladin has invested in approximately 65 portfolio companies since its start in 2001 with at least $1 billion in capital committed.
