SOSi's analytics subsidiary brings in new data chief

SOS International's analytics subsidiary Exovera has hired a new chief data officer in Mario Contreras, a three-decade defense veteran who formerly served in a similar leadership position at Special Operations Command.
Exovera said Tuesday that Contreras will be responsible for developing and implementing its data strategy to include acquisition, governance and management.
SOSi first unveiled Exovera in 2006 as a media monitoring and analysis program for Strategic Command. Six years later, SOSi established Exovera as a self-funded commercial enterprise and subsidiary.
Contreras was most recently chief of digital and artificial intelligence at Socom, where he led the development and management of a digital ecosystem that contained publicly-available information. He also oversaw the establishment of a new open source intelligence exploitation program.
Prior to that, he served in the Army for nearly 20 years as an intelligence professional and retired as a chief warrant officer.
