American Systems wins $1B testing support contract

The Defense Information Systems Agency again chooses someone other than the incumbent.
American Systems has won a potential 10-year, $1 billion contract for broad testing and evaluation support services to the Defense Information Systems Agency.
Work will take place over an initial four-year base period with up to six option years afterward, the Pentagon said in its Friday awards digest. The option years break out to one five-year period followed by an individual one-year term.
Deltek data indicates this is the second iteration of the Test Evaluation and Certification contract that supports DISA's Joint Interoperability Test Command, which is responsible for collecting and analyzing data on the U.S. government's national security IT systems.
The TEC II competition also appears to have seen another unseating of an incumbent in Jacobs, which won the work in 2017 at a $480 million ceiling.
Jacobs beat out three bidders for TEC I, which was a consolidation of eight predecessor contracts into a more consolidated procurement for the test-and-evaluation support.
American Systems held one of those eight earlier contracts.
