Pegasystems unveils new federal unit

Pega Government will focus on cleared and other work of a sensitive nature.
Cloud-based software company Pegasystems has stood up a new business unit focused on the U.S. government market amid a focus on compliance and product requirements among federal agencies.
Pega Government will be responsible for the development and delivery of cleared work for agencies. The business will also support customers and their partners that are operating in sensitive government installations, Pegasystems said Wednesday.
“As we continue to evolve our work with the United States government, we recognized the need to create a dedicated entity to support the distinct security needs for some of our clients,” said Doug Averill, vice president, global industry market leader, government at Pegasystems.
Cambridge, Massachusetts-headquartered Pegasystems has received approximately $7.6 million in prime contract obligations over the trailing 12 months with substantially all of that from the Defense and Justice departments, according to USASpending.gov data.
Justice is acting as the initial government sponsor for Pegasystems' new federal business.
