Akima has hired a new chief growth officer in Mike Alvarado, who joins the government services company after 16 years at Jacobs.

He will be responsible for Akima's corporate development efforts to grow revenue and market share, the company said.

Most recently at Jacobs, Alvarado was vice president of growth and sales strategy in Jacobs' nearly $5 billion-annual revenue critical mission solutions segment that includes the company's intelligence community business.

Alvarado was also involved in the acquisition and integration of KeyW Corp. in 2019, as well as the investment Jacobs made in PA Consulting last year.

He will report to Akima CEO Bill Monet.
