This promotion follows another one that saw a new chief operating officer step into that role.

DCS Corp. has promoted one of its vice presidents to chief financial officer in Tim Phelps, a nearly three-decade federal market veteran who joined the company in 2012.

He also serves in the role of treasurer since his appointment took effect May 19 to succeed the now-retired Tom Fradette as CFO, DCS said Thursday.

This is a second promotion Alexandria, Virginia-headquartered DCS has announced within five months following the promotion of Larry Egbert to chief operating officer.

Phelps has been VP and corporate controller during his 10 years at DCS. His career also includes four years as VP of finance at Maximus and 12 years in financial leadership roles at Farradyne.
