Red Hat adds 4 new members to public sector exec team

Red Hat’s public sector business has made four new executive team hires as the IBM subsidiary continues on its strategy of working with government agencies on their cloud computing efforts.

“Hiring passionate leaders with a strong history of working closely with hyper-scalers has been a cornerstone of our strategy,” Clara Conti, public sector vice president and general manager at Red Hat, wrote in this LinkedIn post announcing the appointments.

“Red Hat has the opportunity to become the de facto standard for delivering open hybrid cloud solutions that can accelerate our customers' missions.”

The new hires are as follows:

• Michael Miller, vice president of enterprise sales
• Jim Keenan, vice president of Defense Department sales
• Anna Levine, senior director of sales for defense and national security programs
• Cindy Brent, senior director of business development for federal

Miller most recently led the federal team at Veeam Government Solutions, while Keenan most recently was director of federal and system integrator sales at VMware.

Levine and Brent are both transferring to Red Hat from cloud strategy and partner ecosystem roles they respectively held at the IBM parent company.

IBM acquired Red Hat for $34 billion just shy of three years ago.
