Cubic Corp. has acquired Silicon Valley-based image and video processing software maker MotionDSP in a push to further build offerings for government, public safety and security customers.
Terms of the transaction were undisclosed. Cubic said Thursday that MotionDSP will be a part of the San Diego-based defense and transportation contractor’s mission solutions business.
Cubic has expanded its defense technology business in recent years through acquisitions. Deals within the past four years have included DTECH Labs, H4 Global, TeraLogics, GATR Technologies, Vocality International and Deltenna.
Burlingame, California-based MotionDSP provides real-time image and video processing services to entities in the military, law enforcement, oil and gas, forestry, inspection services, energy and transportation sectors.
MotionDSP designed its software to work in desktop and cloud environments through detection, tracking and geospatial processing functions. The software is also built to improve visual quality and task automation through computer vision algorithms.
