Former Army vice chief Cody joins MAG Aerospace board

Retired Army Vice Chief of Staff and former L3 Technologies executive Richard Cody joins MAG Aerospace's board of directors.

Retired Army Vice Chief of Staff and former L3 Technologies executive Richard Cody has joined the board of directors at MAG Aerospace, the company said Thursday.

Cody spent 10 years at L3 until his retirement in October of last year and his most recent position there was corporate senior vice president of Washington operations.

A 36-year Army veteran, Cody served as the branch’s second-ranked uniform officer for four years until he retired in August 2008.

Fairfax, Virginia-based MAG Aerospace is backed by private equity firm New Mountain Capital, which first invested in the defense technology integrator in June of last year.

MAG has since been busy on the acquisition front: two last year and another set this year. Last year’s deals for Ausley Associates and North American Surveillance Systems contributed to MAG’s selection as a top dealmaker for 2018 by Washington Technology.

This year’s deals so far include a pair of Australia-based businesses in Encore Aviation and Encore Helicopter Maintenance.
