First step taken in Huntington Ingalls-Alion integration

Huntington Ingalls Industries has unveiled nearly a handful of new business groups and executive appointments within its government services segment after closing the acquisition of Alion Science and Technology.

HII said Wednesday its Technical Solutions segment now has six groups with four of them new and these two unaffected by the realignment: unmanned systems, and nuclear and environmental services.

Among the executives joining from Alion are Terri Walker-Spoonhour, now chief operating officer; Todd Borkey, now chief technology officer; Chris Bishop, now chief growth officer; Chris Soong, now chief information officer; and Richard Fisne, now senior vice president of contracts and procurement.

The new groups are:

• Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance: which designs, develops, integrates and manages sensors, systems, and other assets to support ISR operations, exploitation and analysis.
  
  
• Live, virtual and constructive solutions: designs, develops and operates enterprise tactical training systems to support coordination and readiness.
  
  
• Cyber and electronic warfare: which provides full-spectrum cyber, big data architectures, analytics and cloud migration; EW and foreign material exploitation.
  
  
• Fleet sustainment: which provides hull, mechanical and electrical and C5ISR maintenance, modernization, and integrated product support.

Garry Schwartz leads the ISR group as president, while Glenn Goodman holds the same role for the LVC solutions unit and Ryan Norris for the fleet sustainment organization.

Schwartz has worked for HII since 2017, while Goodman joins from Alion and Norris has been with HII since 2004.
