Huntington Ingalls Industries hires one of the main leaders behind Maximus' string of large acquisitions to be chief financial officer of the shipbuilder's services business.

Huntington Ingalls Industries has hired nearly two-decade industry veteran and former Maximus executive Ashutosh Gokhale as chief financial officer for the shipbuilder’s government services business.

Gokhale will also hold the title of vice president for business management at the HII Technical Solutions segment, the company said Tuesday.

Most recently, Gokhale was CFO for Maximus’ federal services segment and helped lead that division through six years of growth in annual revenue from $300 million to $1.6 billion.

Four large acquisitions aided that growth, including most recent and record $1.4 billion deal for Veterans Evaluation Services. Gokhale also established a culture for process improvements at Maximus.

At HII, Gokhale will succeed the retiring Billy Jahn on July 9 and report to the technical solutions group's president Andy Green.
