KPMG expands government practice leadership team

KPMG has added four new leaders with decades of public sector service experience to the consulting and professional services firm’s government practice.

They will concentrate on business transformation efforts in partnership with KPMG’s government clients, the firm said in a release earlier this month.

Maria Voreh retired from the FBI in March after a nearly 25-year career there that concluded with four years of service as its chief data officer. She led the development of that agency’s first-ever enterprise data strategy that was published in 2018.

Pam Powers is a former acting deputy veterans affairs secretary and retired Air Force colonel who served for three decades in the active and reserve forces.

Michael Westphal most recently served as deputy special presidential envoy for arms control at the State Department and before that was chief operating officer of Real Time 2, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business.

Chad Poppell brings two decades of state and local public sector experience to KPMG and most recently was secretary of Florida’s children and family services department. He was an industry client leader at IBM prior to that and focused on state and local clients.

Voreh will be a director, while the other three hires will hold the title of managing director.
