Lumen voices objection over EIS security award to Verizon

Lumen Technologies is pushing back on a $157.6 million award that went to Verizon to provide network security services to government agencies.

The task order under the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions vehicle was awarded by the Homeland Security Department under the moniker Federal Network Protection System. All agencies use that system.

Lumen, which bid on the task order as Qwest, is challenging the evaluation and say if it were done properly, they would have won.

The company filed its protest Feb. 17 and a decision is due May 28.
