Deloitte buys cyber threat hunting firm

Deloitte purchases the assets of a cyber threat hunting company that focuses on managed services for government agencies and customers in certain commercial sectors.
Deloitte has acquired the assets of cyber threat hunting company Root9B in a move to further build a portfolio of managed services for government agencies and customers in certain commercial sectors.
Terms of the transaction announced Monday were not disclosed. Root9B also offers tech-enabled vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, defense forensics and incident response, as well as defensive security and hunt operator training.
Colorado Springs-based Root9B also offers vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, defense forensics and incident response, plus training for defensive security and hunt operation personnel.
Root9B will become part of Deloitte’s broader cyber detect and respond offering to help clients with their defense postures, security toolsets, security operations programs, time of responses to potential threats and data.
