Army picks DataRobot for AI project

The Army has turned to a small artificial intelligence firm to explore the use of AI to resolve issues with financial data.
The Army has turned to a small artificial intelligence firm to explore how it might use AI to resolve issues with its financial data.
Working with the Defense Innovation Unit and the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, the Army has tapped DataRobot of Boston to bring an enterprise AI platform to bear identifying unmatched transactions.
The goal is to integrate DataRobot’s technology with existing robotic process automation software to demonstrate how advanced machine learning can save both time and money, the company said.
“The intersection of RPA and AI -- what we call Intelligent Process Automation -- can unlock increased efficiencies that have the power to transform organizations,” said Chad Cisco, general manager of the federal market for DataRobot.
DataRobot is partnered with VertoSoft, a small government contractor that is bringing the former's technology into the market.
Terms of the contract with the Army were not disclosed.
