QuantiTech makes its first deal with private equity help

Find opportunities — and win them.

QuantiTech closes its first acquisition since the government services company received backing from a private equity firm earlier in the year.

QuantiTech has made its first acquisition with the backing of a private equity firm that invested in the government services company itself earlier this year.

Terms of the transaction announced Wednesday were undisclosed, but QuantiTech’s purchase of Dynamic Concepts Inc. gives the buyer more work on human spaceflight programs and other space initiatives for NASA and the Defense Department.

DCI works with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Johnson Space Center and Glenn Research Center. The company touts its services as including classical and structural dynamics, digital and hardware-in-the-loop simulation, custom software applications, and control systems design and analysis.

G Squared Capital Partners advised QuantiTech on the transaction and DCI management will continue with the combined company.

In May, private equity firm Sagewind Capital partnered with QuantiTech in an arrangement that has the management team led by CEO Darryl Wortman and Chairman Randy Cash maintain a significant equity stake.

Sagewind’s other major government market investment is By Light.
