LMI names its next full-time chief exec

Four months into its search, LMI identifies and hires a three-decade federal market veteran to be its next full-time president and CEO.

LMI has appointed nearly three-decade federal market veteran and former Science Applications International Corp. executive Doug Wagoner as the next full-time president and CEO.

Wagoner will officially join the nonprofit government consultancy on Aug. 3 and take up the position held by Brian Fitzpatrick on an acting basis since March. Fitzpatrick will return to his role as chief growth officer, an LMI spokeswoman confirmed to WT.

As acting CEO, Fitzpatrick’s main area of focus as he told us in May was ensuring continuity for LMI’s employees and government clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fitzpatrick stepped into that role after LMI’s then-CEO David Zolet joined CentralSquare Technologies as chief executive.

Wagoner retired from SAIC in 2017 after a nearly 10-year career there that included being part of the core leadership team responsible for the split of “Old SAIC” into Leidos and the current SAIC.

His career also includes time as a senior vice president at Data Systems Analysts Inc. and the former ChoicePoint, where he started the public sector practice.
