MorganFranklin finds new home for public sector shop
One year after being acquired itself, MorganFranklin decides to focus exclusively on commercial clients and finds a buyer for the public sector arm.
Just under a year shy of being acquired itself, MorganFranklin Consulting and its owner, Vaco, have decided to go all-in on work with commercial clients and found a new home for the public sector division.
Accounting and advisory firm BDO USA is acquiring the MorganFranklin public sector practice and expects to close the transaction on July 16, both companies announced Tuesday. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
MorganFranklin’s public sector federal agency clients include the Defense Department, Army and Marine Corps along with civilian customers such as Veterans Affairs and Labor.
For BDO, the firm also expands its public sector practice to the Huntsville, Alabama region and furthers growth in the Washington, D.C. area. The D.C. footprint includes offices in the capital itself along with McLean, Virginia and Potomac, Maryland.
MorganFranklin combined with global talent and professional services firm Vaco last summer and both companies touted the combination as one that covers all sectors including government.
That transaction and this latest deal with BDO are intended to position MorganFranklin as the global consulting platform for Vaco in commercial markets.
