Army chooses 7 small firms for $249M test support contract

The Army has awarded seven companies positions on a five-year, $249 million contract for broad engineering and test support services to all components of the branch’s evaluation center organization.

All seven bids were selected for an award and competitors will vie for task orders over the contract’s duration, the Defense Department said in its Thursday awards digest. The hybrid contract has orders that are both cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed price.

Selected companies are:

• Ad Hoc Research Services
• Beshenich Muir and Associates
• Digiflight
• Integrated Defense Applications
• Joint Research and Development Inc.
• Man-Machine Systems Assessment
• Science and Technology Corp.

The Army awarded this new iteration of the contract as a small business set-aside versus the prior version’s status as full-and-open. Larger incumbents on the previous contract awarded in 2014 include American Systems Corp. and Science Applications International Corp., according to Deltek data.
