Navy makes awards on $7.1B aircraft component contract

The Navy chooses dozens of firms for a $7.1 billion avionics and aircraft component manufacturing contract.
The Navy has made dozens awards on a potential 11-year, $7.1 billion contract to build aircraft components and aviation systems on a full-rate production basis.
Businesses will vie for orders across three different lots of activities with designated vendor pools, which were not clearly specified in the Pentagon’s Wednesday awards digest.
Lot one covers mission-specific avionics, while the other two lots are for other aircraft components and modification kits. Work will take place through April 2031.
The Navy received 38 proposals for the contract and selected 28 for an award with some defense companies chosen also involved in recent megadeal activity.

- L3Harris Technologies (bids by three legacy divisions were chosen for award)
- M7 Aerospace
- Means Engineering
- Physical Optics
- Raytheon (merged into what is now Raytheon Technologies)
- Rockwell Collins (acquired by United Technologies Corp., and now also part of Raytheon Technologies)
- Science and Engineering Services
- Science Applications International Corp.
- Sechan Electronics
- Sierra Nevada Corp.
- Tyonek Worldwide Services
- Yulista Aviation
