Air Force awards $6.4B logistics contract

The Air Force makes eight awards on a potential $6.4 billion contract for logistics and other contingency-based professional services around the world.
The Air Force has selected eight companies for a potential $6.4 billion contract to carry out logistics and other contingency-based professional services around the world such as humanitarian support.
All eight firms that submitted bids received awards for the fifth iteration of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program also known as AFCAP V, according to the Pentagon’s awards listing.
Six awardees are incumbents:
- Amentum, formerly part of AECOM
- DynCorp International
- Fluor Corp.
- KBR,
- A joint venture of PAE and Perini
- Vectrus.
The two newcomers are ECC International and Readiness Management Support L.C. Based on Deltek data, it appears that two other incumbents in IAP Worldwide Services and Jacobs apparently did not bid.
They will compete for task orders related to contingency planning that includes the support of deploying, training and equipping of forces; as well as emergency construction when needed.
Gaithersburg, Maryland-based Amentum is the former AECOM Management Services business, which inherited its incumbency when the parent company at the time acquired URS Corp. in 2014.
Fluor, KBR, PAE and Vectrus also won seats on the Army’s LOGCAP V recompete contract that remains under protest by DynCorp.
