Find opportunities — and win them.

Deloitte's government and public services business hires a former NIH executive to lead work with agencies in the area of biomedical data.

Deloitte’s government and public services business has hired former National Institutes of Health executive Vivien Bonazzi as managing director and chief biomedical data scientist.

The consulting firm said Wednesday that Bonazzi will work with federal agencies on using data science methods, technologies and cybersecurity tools to utilize biomedical data.

At NIH, she was a senior adviser in the office of the director and co-founded and led the agency’s Data Commons initiative to create connections between all of its institutes, other government agencies, nonprofit organizations and commercial businesses.

NIH’s goal in Data Commons is to create new ways for sharing, accessing, analyzing, finding and providing attribution for biomedical data in order to enable new discoveries.
