AWS appoints new public sector partner head

Amazon Web Services shifts one of its executives into a new position focused on the cloud provider's network of public sector market partners.
Amazon Web Services has shifted one of its executives into a new role focused on growing and cultivating the cloud infrastructure provider’s network of partners.
Sandy Carter has been appointed vice president of public sector partners and programs with responsibility over a program that includes at least 800 other companies focused on government, education and nonprofit customers of AWS, the company said Wednesday.
That group of partners includes many government IT companies that focus on the migration of data and other workloads into the cloud infrastructures provided by AWS.
Prior to this role, Carter was vice president of Windows and enterprise workloads at AWS. She focused on helping companies better manage their current technology and assets with migration and modernization through containers and serverless platforms.
Carter has also led the VMware Cloud on AWS business.
