Parsons records $590M cyber win

Parsons Corp. has won a potential five-year, $590 million task order to help the U.S. military research, develop and roll out new technologies to support cyberspace capabilities.

The Combatant Commands Cyber Mission Support contract covers work over one base year followed by up to four individual option years, Parsons said Monday.

CCMS was awarded by the General Services Administration through its Alliant 2 Unrestricted contract vehicle for broad IT services and solutions to federal agencies. GSA received three total bids for the order that was signed on Sept. 26, according to a notice in the Federal Procurement Data System.

Centreville, Virginia-based Parsons completed an initial public offering in May and this is one of the company’s largest awards since that IPO, which marked its return to the public markets after almost three decades under an employee stock ownership plan.

The Defense Department, combatant commands and other federal agencies can use the contract to acquire operational support for developed cyberspace capabilities. Parsons will also test and evaluate technologies for integration into operational platforms.

As prime contractor, Parsons is responsible for identifying technologies from both the defense industrial base and commercial companies to support cyber operators.
