NTT Data secures $114M CDC IT infrastructure contract

NTT Data wins an almost $114 million IT infrastructure contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to make another large award secured since the Dell Services acquisition three years ago.
NTT Data’s federal services business has booked a potential five-year, $114.6 million task order to manage both IT infrastructure and supporting applications for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This win continues the company’s almost 15-year partnership with CDC, NTT Data Public Sector President Tim Conway said in a release Monday.
CDC awarded the work through the General Services Administration Alliant 2 Unrestricted contract vehicle for broad IT services and solutions. NTT Data won the IT Infrastructure Support Services order over one other bid, according to a notice in the Federal Procurement Data System.
For NTT Data, the win is the latest in a series of successes since the company acquired the former Dell Services business three years ago to position for larger IT infrastructure contracts north of $100 million.
The prior “sweet spot” for NTT Data prior to the transaction was at around $25 million, Conway told WT in June as part of our annual Top 100 rankings that saw NTT Data come in at No. 65.
“Now with putting the business together the way we have it and the capabilities that we have, we’re looking at the much larger IT outsourcing deals in the market and pursuing them,” Conway said then.
NTT Data currently supports nearly 20,000 users and 33,000 devices for CDC. Work under the ITISS order covers service desk support, cybersecurity and infrastructure emergency preparedness efforts.
