Maxar adds former Strategic Capabilities Office head

Space technology firm Maxar Technologies adds to its leadership team Chris Shank, former Defense Department Strategic Capabilities Office leader.
Maxar Technologies has added to its executive team Chris Shank, formerly director of the Defense Department’s Strategic Capabilities Office that helped steer emerging technology pursuits.
Shank will work as vice president of national security space at Maxar and help oversee sales and business development efforts as part of its global field operations team, the space technology company said Thursday.
As head of the SCO, Shank led efforts to create new ways for the military to shape and counter emerging threats across several domains.
His government service career prior to the SCO includes service as senior adviser to the Air Force secretary, policy director for the House Science Committee, and director of strategic investments at NASA.
