Dovel appoints new innovation chief

Dovel Technologies appoints former Altamira executive Dr. Rod Fontecilla to spearhead innovation and research initiatives.
Dovel Technologies has hired nearly 25-year market veteran Dr. Rod Fontecilla to the dual roles of chief innovation officer and chief data scientist.
McLean, Virginia-based Dovel has tasked Fontecilla to direct its research-and-development efforts and advance initiatives aimed at expanding corporate technical competencies. He will also oversee solutions development, the health IT and life sciences company said in a release Tuesday.
Prior to Dovel, Fontecilla was chief technology officer at Altamira Technologies. His career also includes technical leadership roles at Unisys, Sevatec and Booz Allen Hamilton.
He also serves as an adjunct professor at American University’s Kogod School of Business.
