Fresh off an acquisition to expand in the government market, risk information services firm Exiger has hired a former FBI program manager to drive growth in that public sector vertical.

Exiger said Tuesday that Renee Michael has joined the company as an associate managing director based out of its offices in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region.

Michael heads to Exiger in the wake of its acquisition of Convergent Solutions, a provider of intelligence analysis and security operations services to defense, intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Prior to Exiger, Michael was a program manager in the FBI’s forensic accountant unit and worked at the bureau’s headquarters. Her FBI career included involvement in cases related to foreign corruption, money laundering, counter intelligence, health care fraud, bank fraud, mortgage fraud and securities fraud.
