Lockheed Martin takes $637.6 million contract to perform engineering support for Navy ship defense systems.
Lockheed Martin has won a potential nine-year, $637.6 million contract to perform engineering support for combat management systems the Navy uses for missile defense missions.
Two other bids were submitted for the contract that also covers in-service configurations and integration of new or upgraded warfighting capabilities, the Defense Department said in its Thursday awards digest.
The Ship Self-Defense System provides anti-air defenses for ships, including weapons and countermeasures to fend off threats such as cruise missiles.
Lockheed will carry out engineering and software design support for tactical computer programs, program updates, and also provide development and logistics products.
Work will take place through December 2028 if the Navy exercises all options.
