16 firms win spots on DIA's $17B intell support contract
The Defense Intelligence Agency awards its $17.1 billion "SIA 3" contract to 16 companies to support military intelligence efforts for warfighters, planners and policy makers.
The Defense Intelligence Agency has chosen 16 companies for a potential 10-year, $17.1 billion contract to support military intelligence efforts for warfighters, planners and policy makers.
DIA received 29 proposals for this third iteration of its Solutions for Intelligence Analysis vehicle that covers both work in the U.S. and abroad, the Defense Department said in its Monday awards digest.
Both large and small businesses were eligible to bid on SIA 3 with six seats reserved for the latter category.
Winners, size status and incumbency details based on Deltek data are as follows:
- BAE Systems (incumbent)
- Booz Allen Hamilton (incumbent)
- CACI International (incumbent)
- CSRA LLC (acquired by General Dynamics)
- Fulcrum IT Services (acquired by Huntington Ingalls Industries)
- Leidos (incumbent)
- Mission Essential Personnel (incumbent)
- Perspecta
- SOS International
- The Buffalo Group (incumbent)
- Bluehawk (small business)
- Celestar (small business)

Leidos inherited the contract through its merger with the former Lockheed Martin IT services business three years ago. Other incumbents in Cyberspace Solutions, Science Applications International Corp. and Veritiss were not selected. Another incumbent in L3 Technologies likely did not bid as that company divested a majority of its services work in the several years before its merger with Harris Corp.
DIA tasks contractors working on the SIA program to help with intelligence analysis, support of deployed forces, response crisis and training.
