Navy makes awards on $176M electronic system support contract

The Navy has awarded contracts with a potential $176.4 million combined ceiling value to four companies for services to support special projects and electronic systems.

Those four companies were the lone bidders for the contract that has a three-year base period valued at $72.8 million followed by a pair of two-year options, the Defense Department said in its Monday awards digest.

Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department and other federal agencies can use the contract to acquire support for technology experiments, demonstration and development efforts.

Deloitte Consulting, Serco Group’s Americas region subsidiary, Alutiiq Information Management and McKean Defense Group will compete for task orders over the contract’s duration.

Individual award details are as follows:

• Deloitte: base value of $21.6 million, ceiling value of $52.6 million
  
  
• Serco Inc.: base value of $18.2 million, ceiling value of $44.4 million
  
  
• Alutiiq: base value of $15.3 million, ceiling value of $36.7 million
  
  
• McKean Defense: base value of $17.6 million, ceiling value of $42.6 million

Serco Inc. retains its incumbency for the work, while the other three awardees are newcomers. Another incumbent in Science Applications International Corp. was not selected.

Solicitation documents indicate the work will include management, hardware engineering, software engineering, configuration management and logistics support. The Navy released that request for proposals in June of last year upon the expiration of the incumbent contracts.
