Leonardo DRS unit keeps $830M Navy hardware contract

A Leonardo DRS subsidiary wins a $830.7 million recompete contract to install network hardware for the Navy.
A subsidiary of Leonardo DRS has won seven-year contract worth up to $830.7 million to build and install network hardware for the U.S. Navy and a pair of international partners.
DRS Laurel Technologies beat out one other offer for the contract that also covers purchases by the U.K. through a foreign military sales agreement and a memorandum of understanding with Australia, the U.S. Defense Department said in its Monday awards digest.
This win also means DRS keeps the work it has performed since 2014 under a predecessor contract, according to Deltek data. The new contract covers technology insertion hardware for a pair of submarine baselines.
Hardware to be installed includes displays, workstations, processors and network systems that are commercially-available and confirm to open architecture standards.
