Leidos wins $66M Air Force sensor research contract

Leidos has won a five-year, $66.7 million contract to carry out rapid technology development and demonstration work on sensor systems for the Air Force.

One other offer was submitted for the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract that aims to facilitate creations of new and novel concepts across multiple domains, the Defense Department said in its Tuesday awards digest.

Work will take place through June 12, 2024 and focus on sensors and systems of sensors that support missions involving battlespace awareness in “C4ISR” -- command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

Deltek data indicates this award is one call against a blanket purchase agreement called “Architecture Refinement, Demonstration and Integration Systems” that also includes areas of interest such as the electromagnetic spectrum, airborne asset defense, cybersecurity and component survivability.

A timeline for a second call against the BPA is not clear.
