Leidos secures $900M Air Force ISR order

Leidos has secured a potential $900 million task order with the Air Force for services to support the branch’s operations in “ISR” -- intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

The company confirmed its award of the order in a release Thursday and said work will take place over an initial base year and up to four individual option years after that.

Reston, Virginia-based Leidos had to wait for this one, however. The order was awarded in March and subsequently protested by Booz Allen Hamilton. That protest was denied on July 3 by the Government Accountability Office, whose docket indicates the ruling is currently under a protective order, while a public version of the decision is vetted.

Work for the Air Force’s Air Combat Command will include intelligence gathering, analysis, distribution and training across ACC’s enterprise.

In an emailed statement to WT, Leidos’ defense group president Gerry Fasano said the company will add approximately 800 staffers to its team to carry out the contract work.

“Our mission understanding and scale allows greater investment in differentiation and repeatable solutions for our customers and this includes our intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) expertise,” Fasano said. “Leidos is an ISR domain leader; it’s one of the key capabilities within our defense business.

“This task order is one example of how we deliver complex, scaled solutions for Department of Defense modernization initiatives that provide warfighters with a tactical advantage.”
