A-TEK names new health lead on heels of acquisition
A-TEK hires a former Salient CRGT executive to oversee the health line of business and integrate a recent acquisition.
Fresh off a health IT-focused acquisition, A-TEK has hired a new executive to lead that line of business and help facilitate the integration of the company that was purchased.
Edward “Ted” Schmitt joined A-TEK as vice president and account manager for health to oversee delivery of technology and other professional services to Health and Human Services Department agencies, the company said Wednesday.
McLean, Virginia-based A-TEK’s services in the health market include agile software development, enterprise system support and program management.
A-TEK moved the needle on its health market presence in the recent acquisition of Mackson Consulting, which currently operates as a subsidiary of the acquirer. Mackson’s clients include the HHS and Veterans Affairs Departments, National Institutes of Health, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Prior to A-TEK, Schmitt was a senior vice president at Salient CRGT. He joined that company upon its acquisition of Information Innovators Inc. -- or “Triple-I” -- where he led agile development and digital services for the FDA and other federal agencies.
Schmitt is a 23-year veteran of programs in health services, defense logistics and higher education.
